This season a total of 32 different kinds of powerful Raptors were identified in Sariska. These include some well-known “regulars,” such as:

- Bonelli’s Eagle
- Shikra
- White-eyed Buzzard
The abundance of Raptor species contributes greatly to Sariska's standing as a great birdwatching and wildlife destination.
Water sources serve as beacons for birds migrating through Sariska's significant lakes and reservoirs, which include
- Siliserh Lake
- Karnakwas Dam
- Mansarovar Lake
- Hanuman Sagar
- Kiraska Lake
Each of these areas allows birds to rest, feed, and potentially nest.
The Big PictureThrough this winter, Sariska Tiger Reserve has become a premier birding destination in India, possessing an extensive variety of migratory birds, raptor species and healthy natural habitats. The time from late November to February is extremely rewarding for birdwatchers as Sariska’s terrain reverberates with the vocalizations and colors of avian voyagers from around the globe.
