Sariska Tiger Reserve Becomes Winter Haven for Migratory Birds

The Sariska Tiger Reserve, located in the Alwar district, is seeing a lot of migratory birds migrating to the park this winter. This influx of 57 different migratory bird species indicates the vitality of Sariska's forest ecosystem. Considered among the most biodiverse wildlife habitats in Rajasthan, thus attracting birdwatchers, nature lovers and photographers from all over India and the globe during the winter months.

Reason and Result

Abundant perennial sources of water like Siliserh, Karnakwas, Mansarovar, Hanuman Sagar and Kiraska enable Sariska to attract migratory birds from central Asia, Mongolia, South Africa and Europe as well as many other locations in the world, including Siberia.

This year, as per CCF Sangram Singh Katiyar's opinion, increased numbers of migratory species and raptors indicate that Sariska has a thriving forest ecosystem. Because of this, Sariska has become an important place for bird watching during the migration season.
