Sariska Tiger Reserve Reopens for the 2026 Safari Season with Tiger Sightings
Sariska Tiger Reserve reopened on October 1 after its three-month monsoon break, and the new safari season has already started on a busy note. More than 1,500 tourists visited the reserve in the first three days, while around 300 entered during the opening morning safari. Officials say 10 to 15 tigers have been moving around three safari tracks, giving visitors more areas to explore in search of tigers, leopards and other wildlife. The reserve currently has 56 tigers, while online safari bookings for October are already full. Tourists from Germany, the USA, Russia, Britain and several Indian cities have also visited since the season began.
Sariska is also adding more to the visitor experience this season, with new safari routes and facilities in the works.
The biggest draw this season is, quite simply, the chance of seeing a tiger. Sariska currently has 56 tigers, with 10 to 15 of them moving around three safari tracks, according to reserve officials. Tigers have also been spotted along with leopards since the season opened. The rise in tiger numbers is particularly significant for Sariska, where the species was locally extinct in 2005 before being reintroduced. The reserve has since seen its tiger population grow steadily, making sightings one of the biggest attractions for visitors returning this season.
